TO HELP ENGINEERS provide advanced monitoring and control of home and industrial energy, security, and data-measurement systems, the SX1233 transceiver combines a 600-kb/s bit rate with a 137-dB link budget. The transceiver platform covers 290 to 1020 MHz. With blocking immunity of 80 dB, the SX1233 offers front-end protection from both in-band and out-of-band interference. It flaunts receive sensitivity to -120 dBm at 1.2 kb/s with automatic-frequency-control (AFC) features for receive automaticcenter- frequency alignment. To eliminate distortion with high-level input signals, the transceiver has self-adaptive, input third-order intercept points (IIP3) that range from -18 to +8 dBm as well as a +35-dBm second-order interceptpoint (IIP2) response. To extend battery life, it consumes just 16 mA receive current, 33 mA transmit current at +10 dBm, and 100 nA current for register retention. Output power is programmable from -20 to +17 dBm. By delivering constant RF performance from 1.8 to 3.6 V, the SC1233 guarantees stable communications even as the battery approaches end-of-lifewithout using a voltage regulator. In addition, TrueRF technology eliminates the need for a surface-acoustic-wave (SAW) filter while an integrated packet engine offloads RF packet data from a microcontroller. The SX1233 comes in a 5-x-5-mm, 24-pad QFN package. P&A: $1.87 each in 3000Q; available now.
