Analyzer Checks MIMO To 26.5 GHz

Aug. 29, 2012
Multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) antenna arrays can challenge even the best conventional spectrum analyzers. However, a new PXI-based modular test system includes all the components needed for broadband MIMO testing to 26.5 GHz at bandwidths as wide as 780 MHz.

Multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) antenna arrays can challenge even the best conventional spectrum analyzers with their broad bandwidths and unconventional measurement requirements. However, a PXI-based modular test system developed by Agilent Technologies includes all the components needed for broadband MIMO testing to 26.5 GHz at bandwidths as wide as 780 MHz. The system is essentially a four-channel vector signal analyzer. It is housed in a model M9018A PXI/PXIe chassis and includes a model M9362A-D01 four-channel frequency downconverter module, one M9202A 12-b digitizer module per channel, an M9302A local-oscillator (LO) module, an M9168C RF attenuator, and an M9352A intermediate-frequency (IF) amplifier/attenuator module. The system has an analysis range of 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz and is expandable to evaluate MIMO systems as large as 4 x 4 configurations. For more, click here.
