Digitizer Offers 10-b Resolution

Feb. 21, 2013
A 10-b digitizer can capture high-speed analog and digital signals at sample rates to 5 GSamples/s.

Model NI PXIe-5162 from National Instruments is a 10-b digitizer that operates at sample rates to 5 GSamples/s. With significantly enhanced vertical resolution compared to 8-b digitizers, this component is a suitable building block for high-speed signal-capture instruments, such as oscilloscopes. Providing 1.5-GHz bandwidth and four channels in a single slot, it is ideal for use with LabVIEW software and the LabVIEW Jitter Analysis Toolkit. It can be expanded to as many as 68 channels within a single PXI chassis. Also included are built-in functions for clock recovery, eye diagram, jitter, signal level, and timing measurements, as well as example programs for eye diagram and mask testing and jitter testing.
