Quick Poll: What Do You Think of Mixed Reality Technology?

Jan. 25, 2024
The new "virtual" spatial computing world is a mixed, or eXtended, reality, which includes the augmented- and virtual-reality arenas.

Check out other Microwaves & RF Quick Polls.

The latest buzzword is spatial computing, but it essentially addresses augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). These are usually referred to as mixed reality (MR) or eXtended reality (XR) since the platforms are getting closer to each other.

AR tends to have a world view with the addition of a virtual screen. VR can be used standalone, but all of the latest VR headsets like those from Apple and Meta have image passthrough via external cameras. These platforms are finally moving to the stage where they can address mainstream applications. They may never be as ubiquitous as the smartphone is today, but you never know.

In the meantime, we're interested in finding out if or when you might be diving into the “new virtual” spatial computing world.
