Here's this week's selection of some of the most interesting new products that have been launched of late.

RF Components Target 5G Transceivers and Power Amplifiers

Richardson RFPD released a family of RF components from its TTM Technologies's Radio Frequency & Specialty Components business unit. The 0603 family is made up of 1.5- x 0.7-mm high-performance couplers and baluns, designed to address the demanding performance challenges of next-generation 5G transceiver and power-amplifier applications.

Xinger device family includes 90° 3-dB hybrid couplers in 1800- to 2300-MHz, 2200- to 2800-MHz, and 3100– to 5100-MHz frequency ranges, offering low loss, tight amplitude balance, and high isolation. Xinger 2- to 5-dB directional couplers provide low-loss performance, serving applications where minimal part-to-part variation is required. Xinger balun transformers provide impedance transformation and convert unbalanced impedance to balanced impedance, in either direction, and are available in 600- to 2300-MHz, 1200- to 2700-MHz, and 2300- to 6000-MHz frequency ranges.

An Army veteran, Alix Paultre was a signals intelligence soldier on the East/West German border in the early ‘80s, and eventually wound up helping launch and run a publication on consumer electronics for the U.S. military stationed in Europe. Alix first began in this industry in 1998 at Electronic Products magazine, and since then has worked for a variety of publications, most recently as Editor-in-Chief of Power Systems Design.
