SPDT Switch Controls 10 MHz to 40 GHz

Sept. 22, 2015
A broadband SPDT switch offers high isolation from 10 MHz to 40 GHz.

For broadband signal control, Richardson RFPD has announced full design support for the model PE42524 HaRP reflective single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) switch die from Peregrine Semiconductor. The UltraCMOS switch, which operates from 10 MHz to 40 GHz, achieves 47-dB isolation and only 2.2-dB insertion loss at 30 GHz. The active port return loss is 17 dB at that same frequency. Isolation remains 33 dB at 40 GHz while insertion loss climbs to only 5.5 dB at 40 GHz. The switch chip is well suited for applications in broadband communications and in test equipment.
