The RFVC975x family provides the flexibility, performance, and current consumption of existing voltage-controlled- oscillator (VCO) modules with the size advantage of monolithic VCOs. The family comprises 10 members that span 795 to 1880 MHz. The RFVC9750, for example, covers 795 to 858 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 1.4 to 4.85 V. It offers +4 dBm output power with -15 dBc second harmonics and operates from a supply voltage of 5.25 V. Its sibling, the RFVC9755, spans 1805 to 1880 MHz with tuning voltages from 0.5 to 4.5 V. It offers 0 dBm output power with -12 dBc second harmonics and operates from a supply voltage of 5.0 V. The RFVC975x family of laminatebased VCOs serves second-, third-, and fourth-generation (LTE and WiMAX) cellular infrastructure and other highperformance wireless transceiver applications. The products leverage expertise in the design and manufacture of low-phase-noise discrete VCOs as well as the proprietary MicroShield integrated RF shielding technology and industry- leading scale in laminate multi-chip modules (MCMs). The RFVC975x family claims to be 75 percent smaller than competing signal-source modules while providing the same low phase-noise performance.
