IoT SoCs Feature Multi-Protocol Connectivity, Enhanced Security

Jan. 6, 2025
InnoPhase IoT's Talaria 6 family of SoCs offer increased throughput, energy efficiency, range, increased compute power, and security.

Addressing the IoT user experience by leveraging ultra-low-power Wi-Fi, InnoPhase IoT expanded its Talaria platform with the Talaria 6 family of SoCs, offering multi-protocol wireless connectivity. The SoCs support Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0, Thread, and Zigbee, plus they provide enhanced PSA Level 2 and Level 3 security.

Incorporating a high-performance Arm Cortex-M33, they offer robust performance, energy efficiency, enhanced security, edge AI processing, and advanced connectivity. Target markets include smart home, building automation, industrial IoT, and health/medical segments, The integration of Wi-Fi 6 with Bluetooth and 802.15.4 on a single multi-protocol SoC empowers higher-performance devices, streamlines deployment, and expands interoperability.

Delivering robust throughput in noisy and high-density environments, the integrated digital CMOS radio technology in the Talaria 6 family helps ensure energy-efficient, reliable, and high-performance connectivity. Single- and dual-band options (2.4 GHz/5 GHz) allow for improved range and connection stability, especially in environments with high device density and/or interference. The device family's interoperability with a wide array of existing and future IoT devices serve applications requiring diverse low-power connectivity options.

The Arm Cortex-M33 MCU's comprehensive peripheral support has the necessary computational power for real-time processing of edge AI tasks like predictive maintenance, sensor analytics, and smart power management, simplifying design and reducing system costs. PSA Level 2/Level 3 security protects against cyberthreats with hardware-based encryption, secure boot, and tamper resistance to meet the enhanced security demands of IoT devices.

802.11be extensions and multi-link operations (MLO) improves throughput, lowers latency, and increases reliability in congested environments with multiple links to boost network performance. Furthermore, vertical stack solutions accelerate development and time-to-market with a comprehensive SDK as well as integrated IDE and development tools, proven hardware designs, and global regulatory and industry-standard certifications.
