Rohde & Schwarz, the test equipment maker, promoted its vice president of signal generators, audio analyzers, and power meters to another top role. On Monday, the company said that Andreas Pauly would be the new vice president of its test and measurement unit.
Pauly is replacing Roland Steffen, who has been overseeing the test equipment unit for the last 14 years. Steffen helped shift the company into the oscilloscope market after only selling wireless and electromagnetic compatibility tools like signal generators and spectrum analyzers for decades.
Pauly, 47, started at the test equipment firm as a software engineer in 1996. Rohde & Schwarz, which also sells test equipment for broadcast media and secure communications, is trying to emphasize tools that can be used to test 5G wireless networks and vehicle communications.
