Connectors Ease Cable Terminations

Aug. 13, 2013
These Type-N male connectors are designed for simplified termination of leading coaxial cable brands.

Two new Type-N male connectors from RF Industries are designed to simplify the installation process to coaxial cables, eliminating the need to trim the braid during cable preparation. Model RFN-1006-49I features a solderless captive pin and the RFN-1006-4I features a crimp pin. Both connectors are compatible with high-performance cables from leading suppliers, including LMR®-400 cables from Times Microwave Systems and 9913 cables from Belden. The connectors, with white-bronze plating, feature combination hex/knurl coupling nits for tightening by hand or wrench. They exhibit low VSWR of 1.10:1 through 3 GHz and less than 1.20:1 through 8 GHz.
