One of the RF/microwave industry’s premiere test instrument developers, Rohde & Schwarz, will be on hand at IMS Booth No. 1827 with examples of its benchtop and portable instruments, including its new R&S Spectrum Rider portable spectrum analyzer. The base model operates from 5 kHz to 2 GHz and can be extended to 3 or 4 GHz for higher-frequency testing.
Although this is a lightweight portable instrument, it provides benchtop sensitivity of –160 dBm and measurement accuracy of typically 0.5 dB between 10 MHz and 3 GHz. It weighs only 2.5 kg and can run for 8 hours (a day in the field) on one charge of the battery. It includes a versatile, large-format capacitive touchscreen for ease of use and a daylight mode for good readability in direct sunlight. The analyzer can be remotely controlled by USB or LAN connections to a network or computer.
Along with showing examples of its many signal generation and analysis instruments at the 2016 IMS, Rohde & Schwarz will be well represented in a number of IMS IEEE MicroApps sessions (given in Booth No. 1047), including how to perform E-band tests for automotive radar systems and how to make advanced phase-noise measurements on continuous-wave (CW) and pulsed RF/microwave signals.
