EMITE and Anritsu solution supports MIMO for OTA measurements.

OTA Measurement Platform Aids Wi-Fi 7 MIMO Development

Feb. 19, 2025
Jointly developed by EMITE and Anritsu, the solution supports MIMO for over-the-air measurements on IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7).

EMITE and Anritsu enhanced the functionality of their the over-the-air (OTA) measurement solution so that it complies with the latest IEEE 802.11be Wireless LAN standard for 2x2 MIMO. The new standard will open the door to cutting-edge applications and services, such as ultra-high-resolution video streaming beyond 4K and advanced augmented- and virtual-reality (AR/VR) experiences.

The enhanced OTA measurement platform combines Anritsu’s Wireless Connectivity Test SetMT8862A with EMITE's Anechoic and Reverberation Chambers to accurately measure the total radiated power and total isotropic sensitivity performance of IEEE 802.11be devices in a controlled, repeatable environment. EMITE chambers offer integrated communications protocols, and along with the Anritsu MT8862A, can deliver reliable characterization of Wi-Fi 7 devices.
