How to Develop a Product in Today’s Electronics Ecosystem
The electronics marketplace continues to evolve at a breakneck pace, and it's pushing manufacturers to create products that actually address an application and serve the user. This pressure is compounded by the advent of new disruptive technologies, from wide-bandgap semiconductors to artificial intelligence, which have also given engineers and designers new tools to create many great things. Product development must address both the technical issues as well as the very complex business environment, regulatory environment, and supply chain.
Manufacturers have to confront the rigors of a fast-paced marketplace, adapting not only to technology issues, but also changing consumer trends for functionality and product performance. Bringing new products into the marketplace is complicated by regulatory bodies in various markets, as many are now stricter on compliance and standards of quality. In this episode of Inside Electronics, we talk to Gustavo Sepulveda, Robotics and Automation Business Head at Panasonic North America, about developing a product in today’s electronic engineering ecosystem.
