Platform Delivers Comprehensive GMSL System Testing

Dec. 23, 2024
Rohde & Schwarz collaborated with Analog Devices to create a variety of tests for Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link devices.

With the intention to improve performance in high-speed video links used for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) in vehicles, Rohde & Schwarz and Analog Devices collaborated to create a variety of tests for Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL) devices. This will provide engineers, developers, and manufacturers with the ability to accelerate the creation and deployment of GMSL-based ADAS and IVI systems.

Rohde & Schwarz incorporated Physical Medium Attachment testing in accordance with GMSL requirements into the company's oscilloscope firmware to offer an extensive offering of signal-integrity tools. These tools include LiveEye for real-time monitoring of signal behavior, advanced jitter and noise analysis, and built-in eye masks for forward and reverse channels.

The solution features advanced integrated spectrum analysis on the R&S RTP oscilloscope to verify narrowband crosstalk, while cable, connector, and channel characterization can be performed using the company's vector network analyzers. GMSL technology is increasingly becoming a popular video connectivity standard in the automotive industry, and the collaboration expedites the process for creating GMSL-based solutions to support the automotive ecosystem.
