Edge AIoT Platform Tackles Demanding Apps

ASRock Industrial released the iEP(F)-9040 Series of high-performance edge AIoT platforms with Intel Core 200S processors.

ASRock Industrial's iEP(F)-9040 Series next-generation Robust Edge AIoT Platform offers high-performance edge AI computing and real-time industrial automation with scalable expansion.

Leveraging the Intel Core 200S family of processors (Bartlett Lake-S), the platform provides seamless AI inferencing, high-speed data processing, and intelligent edge computing for industrial IoT and Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) applications. It supports up to 24 cores and 32 threads, and comes with DDR5 5,600-MHz memory extending to 96 GB as well as PCIe Gen5 expansion.

Features include a –40 to 75°C operating temperature range with a 9- to 36-V DC power input and ignition control to ensure reliable operation, along with support for real-time TSN/TCC,. There are also connectivity options like 5G/4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4 for high-speed, low-latency communication.

The iEP(F)-9040 Series also has integrated Intel UHD Graphics for up to 4K high-resolution AI-driven imaging, with DisplayPort 1.4a, HDMI2.0b, and VGA outputs.

The 201.7- × 244.8- × 109.5-mm iEP-9040E suits space-constrained industrial applications, while the 209.8- × 290.8- × 207.1-mm iEPF-9040S-EW4 has expandable PCIe slots for high-performance AI acceleration and industrial add-ons. The iEP(F)-9040 Series has one M.2 Key E, two M.2 Key M, and two M.2 Key B slots for storage and connectivity upgrades. The iEPF-9040S-EW4 provides one PCIe x16 (Gen5), two PCIe x8 (Gen5), and two PCIe x4 (PCIe Gen4) slots.

For I/O connectivity, the iEP(F)-9040 Series features six USB 3.2 Gen2x1 ports, four COM ports (RS-232/422/485) and two COM ports (RS-232), five Intel 2.5-GbE LAN ports (two with PoE support), eight DI/DO channels, and four SATA3. The platform also supports wireless time-sensitive networking (WTSN).

The iEP(F)-9040 Series's ruggedized chassis and industrial-grade thermal management suit mission-critical deployments in industrial automation, transportation, and edge AI computing. The Series possesses 80-V surge protection and safety features like OVP, UVP, OCP, and reverse protection on the input. It meets EMC EN61000-6-4/-2 standards, CE and FCC Class A certifications, and includes TPM 2.0 for enhanced security, ensuring reliability in harsh environments.
