Rockwell Automation’s FLEXA 5000 I/O Module series continues the evolution of the company’s popular PlantPAx Distributed Control System (DCS). The module is designed to reduce hardware complexity and cost via an innovative design and enhances communication with 1-Gb EtherNet/IP network connectivity for increased speed and bandwidth.

The platform can be optimized for any number of workloads and applications. It features up to 24 I/O modules housed in a single node in a horizontal or vertical orientation.

The FLEXHA 5000 offers a universal card option that allows for flexibility in I/O choice. It’s configurable using Rockwell’s Studio 5000 software (version 35 or later) as analog (HART capable) or discrete, input or output. The module is also optimized to operate in temperatures from −40 to +70°C and extreme environments using a conformal coating. On top of that, it simplifies field wiring and reduces spare module requirements and maintenance downtime.
