Beyond its human users, communications systems of the future are expected to have even more electronic and machine users, connected via the internet. Internet of things (IoT) sensors will provide instantaneous data for monitoring the environment, homes, and offices. Robotic assistants on land, sea, and in the air will make many lives easier.
Communications are important for maintaining the functionality and performance of all these devices. Thus, adding communications capability of some kind will be an important part of the design and development of many new electronic system designs.
