Taoglas AntennaXpert Tools Empower Engineers to Select the Optimal Antenna Solution.

Software Tools Refine Antenna Selection

Jan. 8, 2025
Taoglas AntennaXpert tools enable integrators and product builders to optimize the selection and placement of antennas, cables, and connectors.

Taoglas recently introduced the AntennaXpert suite of digital tools on its website to optimize antenna design and integration. The toolset includes an Antenna Integrator, Antenna Builder, and Cable Builder.

The Taoglas Antenna Integrator lets designers preview embedded antennas, including multiple or MIMO antenna systems’ performance in the concept phase of a project to avoid potential issues with component placement inside the product. The solution addresses factors such as antenna selection, placement on the PCB, and spacing and orientation with other antennas.

Along with component placement, Antenna Integrator can help optimize RF performance and PCB size, simplifying mechanical integration. Just input a custom PCB size and place multiple virtual antennas on the digital board. The completed design is submitted to Taoglas, with users obtaining a technical report within a day with detailed antenna performance parameters such as return loss and efficiency.

Antenna Builder enables the configuration of the external and embedded antenna’s cable length and connectors to optimally address the application in question. The tool allows users select the desired antenna from the company's portfolio of off-the-shelf antennas, customizing the connector type and cable length to fit specific requirements.

Cable Builder enables the customization of RF cable assemblies to specifically address a given application. Designers need only select the cable type, cable length, and the type of connectors required.
